Historical churches are some of our favorite jobs to work on. There is such a difference from the beginning to the end result. It’s satisfying to see such an impact from all of your hard work. Not to mention that the people are such a great group to work for!
Churches, mansions, and buildings with historical backgrounds are considered historical restorations. Since the stone and tile in these buildings were initially installed by true artisans, respect of their work is paramount. Years of wax build-up and soil absorption, improper maintenance, and wear has hidden or distracted from seeing the original beauty of the work. It is Alexandria Marble’s goal to peel away the years of patina to expose the true beauty of the stone and preserve it for future generations.
If aggressive grinding is required for extremely damaged stone, it is approached in a thoughtful way to limit warping and distortion of tile when possible. All cleaners, finish removers, abrasives, and stone/grout repair products are heavily scrutinized prior to restoration and a thoughtful game plan is derived for each unique property.
