On this job, the painter used a razor knife to remove the protective paper covering the newly installed floor, creating deep scratches along the edges of the perimeter of the flooring.
Removing construction scratches
There were approximately 39 linear feet of deep scratches along the wall created by the razor knife. Also light to moderate construction scratches throughout the bathroom flooring.
I manually sanded the edges with various hand machinery and multiple grits of diamond abrasives to remove the scratches and finished with floor machinery to create a consistent finish. Black marble is one of the most difficult stones to polish due to its mineral composition.
